This Worldly Life (Dunya)
Dunya in Arabic means ‘the low’. It is so cheap to Allah that the
Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam said: if this Dunya had the value of a
mosquito’s wing, Allah wouldn’t have given a disbeliever a sip of water.
However, Paradise is expensive as the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam told us. Its price is: to do what Allah commanded you, refrain from what He had forbidden and deal with people with good character. How poor and weak man is! He can travel to space, climb the highest peaks and explore the depths of the oceans! Yet he can’t conquer his own weak soul and sinful desires. O Allah, grant us Paradise on earth and in the hereafter!
